We look forward to rounding off the year 2023 on a good note! With only one more day to go, we will open the doors to our new Pop-up store on 2, rue des Capucins at noon this Saturday. The past weeks have been busy, but there is nothing as gratifying as seeing results. Good planning is half the job, and the rest is up to pure willpower and many hands on deck.

The store will be filled with good ideas for end-of-year gifts! Remember we bear the name for a reason, so you can count on finding inspiration on a full scale of colours.

The year that has passed

December is the season for markets, cozy lights, and ambiance, but it is often also the month when we take a moment to look back at the year that has passed. As with all years, this too has had its ups and downs. In these times of dramatic news around the world, appreciating what we already have and helping where we can, are notions that can have an important impact.

Friendship Colours of the Chars has had a busy year. This year was earmarked with the introduction of the slow fashion collection, even shown at an outdoor fashion show in May.  We also presented our products on pop-up stands in shopping malls outside Luxembourg City (Belval, Nordstrooss Shopping Mile, and the Belle Étoile) and in corporate Christmas markets (Arendt, Court of Justice, KPMG, and Luxtrust). Our prime goal is as always to create job opportunities in the chars, thus engaging and empowering more women. We look forward to a new collection of ethical products in 2024.

Team work - People helping people

Without the never-ending energy, inspiration and commitment of our team of volunteers, we would not be where we are today! Three shops, seven stands as well as four Christmas Markets. Not bad. With help ranging from client service in the shops, planning and moving, shop decorating, installations, building bamboo structures, preparing and selling Bangla deli dishes, serving homemade cakes and, not to forget, just keeping up the good mood ….
